Pippin went over the tavern's commands to make them “more careful”. Since then:
- Gorm's inventory no longer adds up: the tart at 12.50 gp shows up at 13;
- the script that imports Bruna's new dishes every night no longer adds anything, and reports no error;
- when a dish is rejected, the script believes it was added;
- this month's big clean-up left dozens of old reservations in the reservation book, even though it announced it had purged them all.

A command has two audiences: the human, who reads the messages, and the script, which only looks at the exit code and at what changed in the database. Each of these breakdowns fools the second one, or both.
